This project is part of the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) Covid Recovery Scheme, and was focused on Asset Replacement and Plant Improvement.
As a Design and Build (D&B) project, it involved extensive upgrades and replacements to the building's mechanical and electrical systems to enhance functionality and efficiency. Here are the specific works undertaken:
2 no. chillers replaced including replacement chilled water pipework, 2 no. new pumps and ancillaries.
A X-pot compact side stream filtration system installed on the CHW system.
4 no. AHU’s replaced with modifications to existing ductwork configuration to suit new AHU’s.
2 no. single split systems for the comms room replaced c/w auto-changeover panel and replacement of Jury Room AC split system.
Removal of existing cold water storage tanks and modifications to the cold-water distribution pipework to suit the system being mains fed.
Domestic hot water calorifier replaced that serves all hot water outlets throughout the building.
BMS upgraded to accommodate new upgraded mechanical plant c/w remote connection for off-site control by FM team.
New electrical supplies to suit new mechanical plant.
Lighting replaced to Court 3 c/w new lighting control system.
New fire alarm interfaces to MCP panels and re-location of existing fire devices in Court 3.
During the construction works DL M&E appointed and managed 14 no. contract crane lifts for removal / installation of the roof mechanical plant, also assisting the roof workers for the replacement roof materials.
These comprehensive upgrades aimed to modernise the building's infrastructure, enhance energy efficiency, and ensure reliable operation of critical systems, supporting the building's functionality.
