The work involved the mechanical and electrical refits of bedrooms, bathrooms and the communal areas of the home, which were undertaken whilst the building was occupied. The planning and organisation of this project was key, to ensure minimum disruption to the vulnerable and elderly occupants of the care home.
We were responsible for installing new lighting and emergency lighting, general power and distribution boards throughout the home, ensuring the building was compliant with current regulations and standards. DL M&E Building Services undertook the HVAC installation, which comprised of ventilation upgrades to all spaces throughout the care home and the installation of a new LTHW heating system.
In relation to domestic services, each of the 120 bedrooms had new sanitaryware installed, along with new piped services. To meet with the requirements of the care home, new shared wet rooms were installed within each bedroom cluster, along with assisted bathrooms, showers and disabled toilet facilities.
