Due to the economic effects of the global pandemic, the Government announced a new COVID framework in the summer 2020, which encouraged Government sector spending as part of the ‘Build Back Better‘ initiative. This included energy efficiency upgrades.

As part of this initiative, we were engaged on a D&B basis to undertake Asset Replacement works at several Government properties across the northwest, which aimed to improve efficiency and maintainability of the Electrical Installation and HVAC Systems.

The Scope of works varied widely across each of the sites, however, highlights included:

  • Replacement of Chillers (5 Schemes in total).
  • Refurbishment and Replacement of AHU’S.
  • Replacement of VRV Systems.
  • Upgrades to site wide Building Management Systems.
  • Replacement of Commercial LTHW Systems.
  • Upgrade of Power Distribution Systems.

Logistically, the works required comprehensive planning alongside the building occupants and local authority, to ensure the client could maintain operation of services throughout the construction works.

The projects were each delivered successfully, leading to DL securing a position on the ongoing framework, with further projects into the future.
