These works involved the replacement of three chillers and the refurbishment of the corresponding cooling towers during the renovation of the 7-floor

Our client wanted a like for like replacement which would be completed in tandem with works being carried out on the other floors.

There was a lack of as fitted information regarding the original pipework installation, so we brought in our pipework specialist to assess what alterations were necessary. We discovered that the historic addition of temporary fixtures and issues with the valve, pump, and strainers, meant that there was risk of failure.

To reduce the impact on the budget, the existing parts were assessed and retained where appropriate. We also completed a chemical clean of the existing water system. This ensured that any existing parts were not just useable, but in the best possible condition.

The new chiller installation was successful and completed on time. As a result of the newly cleansed systems, the new chillers have a lower noise level, and the documentation created throughout the 2019 works means that future maintenance will be completed to the exact specifications required.
